Systems Business Analyst, Insurance

London/Hybrid

Circa £80k plus bonus plus benefits

Systems Business Analyst required by London Market Insurance group based in the City of London (hybrid working model). This is a great opportunity to join the energetic, faced paced and collaborative business analysis team, working on both BAU and strategic change initiatives. We are seeking a strong systems and Insurance SME who can proactively work with key business stakeholders to ensure we deliver solutions that meet their needs. This role is key to ensuring they enhance communication and understanding between the Underwriting, Operations, Data, Bordereaux and IT teams so strong communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• The elicitation, analysis and validation of both business and system requirements to an appropriate level of detail to enable effective development of business requirements and new or changed software, systems and business processes
• The management of requirements throughout the whole of the delivery life cycle.
• Facilitating if necessary, the negotiation of trade-offs that are both acceptable to key stakeholders and within budgetary, technical, regulatory and any other constraints.
• Act as the conduit between the Data Team, IT, Underwriting, Operations and Finance teams ensuring requirements are understood and each stakeholder has appropriate involvement
• Create new and potentially disruptive approaches to performing business activities in order to create new or improved products, services and/or improving effectiveness of Data initiatives
• Undertake the build and design of business processes, developing process maps which accurately and clearly represent business processes to facilitate understanding and decision making in respect of potential solutions.
• Cross check business requirements against technical requirements to ensure alignment and provide appropriate challenge to ensure successful business outcomes
• Provide oversight and management of User Acceptance Testing utilising the appropriate techniques and tools.
• Reports on the outcome of testing and translates and prioritises risk to ensure those risks associated with the change are understood by all stakeholders
• Utilises market knowledge to bring the art of the possible and creative thinking to solving business challenges

Key Requirements

• Previous Systems Business Analysis experience within Insurance
• Experience of a Front End insurance product or policy administration system SME
• Experience of web and cloud technologies and agile methodologies
• Very strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
• Experience gained in an insurance broker, MGA or carrier environment
• Good understanding of Insurance Data, Operations, Underwriting and Finance
• Broad knowledge and understanding of insurance principles, products and services
• An understanding of regulatory requirements

This is a new position within a growth team who are looking at some incredibly interesting international greenfield projects.
