SCADA - Control Systems Software Engineer

  • £50,000 - 75,000 + benefits
  • New Malden, 3 days a week remote the rest of the time.
  • Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance.

Leading engineering support services company is actively recruiting for experienced SCADA - Control Systems Software Engineers x 5 at various levels of expertise.

My client is happy to consider ANY SCADA package but would have a preference for WinCC.

  • Capture, interpret and develop customer requirements
  • Produce detailed technical design documentation in accordance with company/customer procedures
  • Specify, design and test solutions for SCADA Systems and other high level control systems
  • Manage data communications with third party equipment
  • Develop SCADA software from multiple design formats such as Block Diagrams, Flow Charts and Pseudo Code
  • Develop high level software to integrate with the SCADA solution
  • Validate software designs through analysis and test
  • Support the preparation of contract changes and proposals
  • Be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
  • Carry out any other reasonable management requests
  • Provide input to project meetings and team briefings

Essential experience for the position of SCADA - Control Systems Software Engineer

To fulfil the requirements of this job, the post-holder must have the following skills:

  • Design and integration of Complex, large scale SCADA control systems using products such as but not limited to; AVEVA (Wonderware) Intouch/System Platform, Honeywell Experion, Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens WinCC or GE (Cimplicity, iFix, Proficy)
  • Production of technical documentation.
  • High level system interfacing and database configuration.
  • Software development life cycles, processes and procedures.
  • 3+ years in a software engineering environment.
  • Proven experience in SCADA system design and programming.
  • Understanding of testing and commissioning.
  • Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering or a related discipline eg C&I engineering, Systems engineering.

Desirable experience for the position of SCADA - Control Systems Software Engineer

  • Development Experience of Siemens (ETM) WinCC Open Architecture (OA)
  • Specification and analysis of COTS equipment
  • Experienced in the use of High Level Programming Languages within SCADA IDE environments such as; VB, C#/C++
  • Oracle/SQL Database administration and interfacing
  • Understanding of Functional Safety (BS EN 61508, 61511 or 62061)
  • Software testing and verification
  • Experience of configuration management systems and change control
  • Experience within Defence, Maritime (Ship's machinery and control systems), Aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector (eg Oil & Gas, Pharma or PetroChem)
  • Industrial communication and networking standards
