Desktop Support Engineer - Dublin - 6Mos

Parity Group are recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation in Ireland, who are looking to recruit a Desktop Support Engineer for an initial 6 months.This role is full time onsite in their central Dublin offices, 5 days per week. Remote or hybrid working is not possible for this role.

This role pays up to €200p/day DOE and operating via your own Limited company or Umbrella Company.

Responsibilities

The person appointed will, working with an offsite support team, act as single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the organisation's desktop environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, maintaining, and upgrading equipment (desktops, laptops, and tablets) to ensure optimal performance as well as software installation to match user requirements. The person appointed will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via email), providing end-user assistance where required and working within agreed service levels.

Scope of the Role

  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot, Windows 10, Office 365, and any other authorised desktop applications.
  • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot for printers, mobile devices, and any other authorised peripheral equipment.
  • Configure desktop hardware to corporate standards.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers as appropriate.
  • Manage calls using their call management system; update accordingly including details of issue resolution.

The Essentials

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience supporting of Microsoft Windows 10/11
  • Experience supporting of Microsoft 365
  • Experience of supporting Microsoft Teams Collaboration
  • Experience of supporting Microsoft Teams Telephony
  • Active Directory - user and group security configuration
  • Active Directory - group policy configuration
  • Managed anti-virus management systems - ideally Windows Defender
  • Understanding of ITIL framework and related processes
  • Experience of laptop imaging, onboarding & application deployment
  • ICT Purchasing and stock control experience.
