IT Manager
Robert Half have partnered with a growing international training and development business based in the Manchester area. They are looking for an IT Manager to join them on a permanent basis.
Purpose
The IT Manager role is to provide leadership, support, and oversight of International Technology Operations and Services Team. This includes full responsibility for the management of people, service partners, and processes in the Service Desk to ensure quality service outcomes, continuously increase organizational efficiency and personnel uptime as well as technical execution, problem solving, and day-to-day technical operations.
The IT Manager is also responsible for planning, designing, and organizing Technology Operations and Service Desk Team according to best practices ensuring high levels of service quality, cybersecurity, and availability. This individual will develop, implement, and oversee policies, procedures, technologies, and tool sets to ensure consistent service levels, issues resolution and security.
Responsibilities
- Maintain IT Infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, end-user hardware, A/V, office technology, and collaboration tools
- Ensure technology components work together seamlessly to meet business needs, using full range of capabilities, and staying informed about new features and technology solutions
- Partner with business leaders to understand business requirements and drive technology solutions to deliver outcomes, anticipating growth and scalability.
- Point of escalation for issues and day to day operations that need escalation to senior management
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence within the Service Desk team
- Provides coaching, supervision, and direction to department staff
- Serve others by problem-solving on tactical issues when needed
- Actively mentors and promotes professional growth within the Service Desk team
- Work as the technology liaison between Corporate and International teams providing direct support and coordination as needed
Skills/Experience required
- Proven experience in a dedicated IT Management role - taking ownership of team management and IT strategy
- Experience with a broad range of technologies including Windows server and desktop operating systems, cybersecurity products including email hygiene and anti-malware products, Active Directory, VMware or other virtualization technologies, Azure or other cloud technologies, LAN/WAN networking technologies, remote access VPN, VDI, and Office 365
- Project management experience in running technology-based projects, planning, time management and prioritization
- Experience working within the ITIL framework
- Experience working with ITSM platforms
- Working knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, and Active Directory
- Working knowledge of technology architecture
- Strong knowledge of local area network and VoIP systems administration
- Process driven with high attention to detail and excellent follow through skills
- Demonstrated experience with Windows systems installation, maintenance and troubleshooting
- Advanced level troubleshooting of hardware, networking and software related issues
- Technical competency in core technologies: Cloud, Windows Server/Desktop, Palo Alto, Cisco and Meraki networking
- Expectation of ongoing, active learning and skill growth in key technology areas including cybersecurity, cloud, Office 365, Dynamics 365, voice & video systems, and networking
- Excellent teambuilding skills with the ability to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team.
- Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to delegate responsibilities and authority effectively and to encourage individuals to decide how they will accomplish their goals and resolve issues
Salary/Package
- £60,000 - £80,000 dependent on experience and level
