This is a great opportunity for a DROOLS Expert join a leading service provider to the global commercial insurance community. Accounting for more than £80 billion in financial settlements, the London Insurance Market is in a period of strategic change, delivering new digital services as defined in the vision set out by the Lloyd's Blueprint. As provider of core Premiums and Claims processing services the account is set to play a pivotal role in the overall market transformation and requires a DROOLS Expert with a proven track record defining and delivering innovative data strategies employing cutting edge technology to the end to end management of the data life cycle.
Required:
* Strong understanding of DROOLS: The applicant should have a deep understanding of the DROOLS framework, including its concepts, features, and capabilities. The applicant can analyze requirements from teams and guide them towards best practice solution.
* Experience building DROOLS services at scale: The applicant must have prior experience building rules capabilities in large scale projects, spanning multiple business areas.
* Experience with DMN and FEEL: The team lead should have experience with the Decision Model and Notation (DMN) and Friendly Enough Expression Language (FEEL).
* Experience in leading and managing technical teams: The candidate should have experience in leading and managing a team of engineers. This includes setting clear goals and expectations, delegating tasks, and resolving conflicts.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills: The candidate should be able to identify and solve problems, as well as analyze data to make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: The applicant should be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. They should also be able to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.
* Microservice and cloud based development: The candidate will have experience building microservice based applications on a cloud platform, preferably AWS, but other cloud platforms will be considered.
In addition to these essential skills, the team lead may also benefit from having experience with other rule engines, such as Drools Fusion or JBoss Rules.
Role responsibilities for the candidate:
* Defining, improving, and implementing DROOLS best practices and standards
* Working with stakeholders across business areas to gather requirements and define DROOLS solutions
* Conducting training and mentoring for team members
* Staying up-to-date on the latest DROOLS developments
* Leading and managing a team of engineers responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of DROOLS applications
