Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and driving projects and enhancements.
- Mentoring and providing support to fellow software engineers in quality techniques.
- Playing a key role in creating client proposals with a specific focus on technical architecture.
- Introducing and implementing new technologies and processes within the engineering team.
- Designing, coding, and thoroughly unit testing software.
- Maintaining a strong connection with the Product Manager, development team, and stakeholders.
- Identifying areas for improvement in critical components and processes.
The successful Lead Java Software Engineer will have:
- A robust background with at least 8 years of experience in commercial Java software development
- A track record of at least two years as a Lead Software Engineer, including mentoring.
- Solid experience in solution architecture for cloud-based solutions.
- Strong leadership skills and a collaborative spirit.
- Customer-oriented mindset.
- Deep understanding of best software engineering practices.
- A strong commitment to quality, encompassing design, process, documentation, and testing.
- Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and tenacity.
- Familiarity with working in agile environments.
Any of the following would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux), hosting environments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure), and various programming languages (C#, C++, Python).
- Experience in migrating traditional on-premises solutions to cloud-based solutions.
- Previous involvement in delivering cloud solutions.
- Familiarity with the cybersecurity domain and secure by-design principles.
- Experience with DevOps practices.
- Knowledge of specific tools and technologies like Gradle, Git, Spring, HTML5, and more.
- Experience in regulated environments, particularly in the medical or aerospace industry.
