Finance Controller - PAYE - London

Gibbs Hybrid are looking for an accomplished Finance Controller to be responsible for the accounting and controlling function for the UK entities of the London based client. This role will involve 25% travel to other locations and is a 3mth rolling contract.
* Month, quarter and year-end financial process management for financial reporting
* Lead pro-active balance sheet review and reconciliation analysis for all entities, incl deep understanding of accruals
* Ensuring strong adherence and compliance to accounting and control policies
* Support and lead month end close (MEC) meetings supported
* Support and lead Hard close process for the UK entities
* Lead the local statutory accounting and audit for the UK entities, supported by a local external accountancy firm
* Strong understanding of the target operating model and ensuring set-up of intercompany service agreement are followed through in accounting and process flows
* Support and lead external audits, first point of contact for KPMG
* Support and lead internal control self-assessments as required
* Drive continuous improvement, optimization, and standardization of operating model together with Tax function
* Set-up a ways of working with global shared service center and drive global services, process, and system improvement opportunities in the end state
* Strengthen the performance reporting process to meet key deadlines: monthly & quarterly performance review
* Being able to work and deal with deadlines, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance

Essential:

* Extensive experience in accounting and finance controlling
* Previous experience in Big 4 accounting firm, helpful
* Ability to work in a "startup" environment, experience developing policies, processes, and strategy
* Experience in either Retail, Pharma, Beverages, Consumer goods industries is helpful to understand supply chain, logistics and distribution
* Fluency in any European languages as well as English, very helpful
