Senior Network Engineer

+ Salary: £45,000 - £50,000

+ Location: Remote

+ Must hold right to work

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting in the deployment and management of our FTTP Networks;
• Working with engineers in the field with issues escalated from other members of the team;
• Creating high quality Network documentation from new and existing Networks;
• Handling Network issues within the Network Operations Team and across the FTTP Network Estate;
• Management of a team of Network Engineers working on the FTTP Estate;
• Assisting our Network Architecture team in the integration of acquisition Networks;
• Creating HLD and LLD's for Network deployments based on standard architecture design guidelines;
• Continually improve and develop Network processes, making them more efficient;
• Act as senior escalation point to the Network Operations Team members;
• Manage projects from technical side; and,
• Contribute/improve Network monitoring and operational excellence

Skills:

A good understanding of L2/L3 networking, PON Networks and experience working with ADTRAN and Juniper Hardware.

We would also expect you to have experience in the following:

• At least five year's experience within a similar role would be preferred;
• FWA multivendor knowledge and experience is critical to this role in particular on Ubiquity, Mikrotik, Zyxel, TP-Link, Radwin, Siklu, and Cambium
• Excellent understanding of access technologies with an emphasis on GPON, XGS-PON;
• Strong experience with Network Monitoring platforms, such as LibreNMS, Icinga, PRTG, Nagios, etc.;
• Routing; BGP, OSPF;
• VLAN's, PPP, Tunnelling;
• AAA; RADIUS;
• DNS;
• Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability;
• Proven ability to operate in high-pressure situations;
• Proven ability to work well independently and on a team;
• Successfully able to handle multiple competing priorities;
• High level of discipline while displaying a high degree of flexibility and professionalism; and,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
