Junior Data Engineer
My client is actively searching for a permanent entry-level Data Engineer to contribute to the development and maintenance of their Population Health Analytics data platform, hosted on Microsoft Azure. The responsibilities of this role encompass a range of analytics software development tasks utilizing technologies such as Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory. They are looking for individuals with a keen interest in solving complex problems, and their Population Health Analytics team operates at the forefront of the transformative agenda in health and care.
This team is dedicated to delivering population analytics solutions that empower health and care organizations to plan services based on the actual needs of their populations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in Population Health Analytics programs covering a substantial portion of the UK population.
The ideal candidate should possess entry-level experience, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a strong analytical mindset. Familiarity with healthcare data is advantageous.
Role: Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Population Health data platform software using the Microsoft Azure cloud toolkit, encompassing tasks related to data storage, extract, transform, load, and associated software.
- Provide customer support for analytics software.
- Plan and estimate development tasks.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience (Desirable):
- Databricks
- Python
- Azure Synapse
- Power BI
- Experience integrating cloud data sources into data pipelines (eg, blob and file storage, Data Lakes)
- Knowledge or work experience in health or social care informatics
- Experience in remote work within a geographically dispersed team
- Source control within Azure DevOps
- Some experience in other development languages and technical standards such as R, PowerShell, JSON, C# .Net
- Qualifications:
- A degree in a related subject (desirable) or equivalent experience
