Company Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our leading sector defence clients! They are currently looking for a skilled DV Cleared Oracle And SQL Database Specialist to join their team for a eighteen-month contract.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives

You will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of supported services through proactive monitoring, swift problem resolution, configuration management, security implementation, and risk identification.

Ensure service delivery meets and exceeds Service Level Agreements, continuously monitoring to align with business requirements.

Investigate and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining optimal service levels.

Initiate regular exercises to optimize database performance, analysing trends and collaborating with stakeholders.

Develop and maintain database/application configurations and standards, ensuring consistent adherence.

Implement robust database security in line with policies, while identifying and communicating risks associated with information processing.

Required Skills/Experience

Strong experience in Oracle & SQL

Proven experience in effectively managing databases, including performance optimization, configuration, and standards maintenance.

Demonstrated expertise in investigating and resolving problems with supported services in a timely manner.

Strong background in implementing and maintaining database security in accordance with company policy and industry best practices.

Extensive experience in handling database changes, enhancements, and code releases throughout the system life cycle, following established Change Control policies.
