Head of Engineering - Digital Products - Burns Sheehan are working exclusively with a prestigious global company who are looking for a Head of Engineering with responsibility for shaping and delivering the technology roadmap, innovating across all digital touchpoints. This is a newly created position as they embrace a "Customer First" strategy where technology is a key enabler and you will build partnerships with the Director of Product and senior business stakeholders to drive technology transformation.

You will lead a talented and motivated team of 100+ with full autonomy to structure the evolving organisation for success, introducing processes to improve quality and speed of delivery. There are hugely exciting opportunities to deliver real value to their customers and the business.

There will be occasional travel to visit your European engineering teams in Spain and Germany.

What are they looking for from the Head of Engineering?

• The Head of Engineering will be adept at building relationships across the organisation to understand and influence how technology can achieve business goals in a complex environment.
• To take these goals, set the roadmap and communicate this to the engineering teams, inspiring them with a compelling vision.
• Structure the organisation and implement modern processes which allow the teams the clarity and autonomy to deliver great products. Utilising iterative, Agile processes and improving shared capabilities through automation and developer experience.
• The ability to lead and motivate highly skilled Engineers and Managers to deliver a wide portfolio of products that are at various stages of the life cycle.
• In-depth knowledge of 'product engineering' working closely with Product and using lean product management principles. You will have excellent understanding of how to harness these principles to measure success through metrics like OKRs.
• Knowledge of complex E-commerce/financial applications would be advantageous.
