Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview: The position involves managing hosting infrastructure at a Tier 3 data center, supporting millions of daily transactions for large enterprise travel clients. Key responsibilities include resolving complex technical issues, managing virtualized infrastructure, and collaborating with the Head of IT for team leadership and coaching.

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in resolving technical issues with 24/7 support, emphasizing proactive analysis.
  • Experience in managing large, virtualized infrastructure using VMWare Virtualization technology, including load balancing, networking, scaling, and automation.
  • First-line experience in managing large transactional SQL Server databases.
  • Familiarity with web applications, Windows server, IIS, and optionally Linux (Ubuntu).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL and Cache management options such as MongoDB, Elastic Search, and Redis.
  • Proficient in PowerShell Scripting for configuration, reporting, and automation.
  • Understanding or willingness to onboard automation technologies like Terraform.
  • Cybersecurity expertise, including mitigation, threat detection, and compliance.
  • Data center management knowledge, covering hardware, power, and cooling.
  • Experience with cloud hosting options, preferably Azure, including deployment management and cost optimization.
  • Utilization of Cloudflare for Proxy, Access, load balancing, and WAF.
  • Internal support for the team, covering Windows desktop, Active Directory, and Office 365.
  • Experience in automation, including Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet), and containers (Docker) is advantageous, with a willingness to learn and innovate.
