Here's the scoop on what you'll be doing:

• Collaborate with the software development team
• Participate in the full project life cycle, from requirement analysis to system customisation and implementation.
• Develop and enhance the core business systems using Perl, focusing on scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Address and resolve escalated support issues, providing high-level technical assistance.
• Design, develop, and implement new systems and tools to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
• Engage in database design and development, ensuring effective data storage, retrieval, and manipulation.
• Maintain and improve existing codebases, ensuring best practices and coding standards are adhered to.
• Provide input on system architecture and contribute to strategic planning.
• Document development processes, code, and system changes for future reference and compliance.

Essential skills

• Proven experience as a Perl Developer.
• Solid understanding of Linux and SQL database development.
• Experience in developing business software with a focus on enterprise-level applications.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex business requirements.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Understanding of software development life cycle best practices.
• Willingness to research and learn new technologies, methodologies, and tools.
