Network IT is currently in search of a Network Systems Engineer to become a valuable addition to our client's team in Shrivenham on a permanent basis. This role involves contributing to the development of innovative secure solutions for clients in various research sectors, including science and medical fields.
Our client is in search of a Network Systems Engineer who possesses a genuine passion for technology. In this role, you will become a valuable member of an accomplished and skilled team, taking on the responsibility for all operational aspects of the networking infrastructure. Your tasks will include responding to, investigating, and resolving technical issues that have been escalated from the first line of support. Additionally, you will be involved in enhancing and optimizing the network technology setups, collaborating with monitoring teams to ensure the accurate measurement of essential metrics, and analysing these measures to maintain a healthy and secure network environment.
As an active member of the networking systems group, you will actively participate in discussions, planning, design, and deployment of innovative solutions using a variety of vendor technologies.

- Voice systems and associated IP protocols (VOIP, SIP)
- Dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Knowledge/awareness of Hyper Converged Infrastructures and the Software Defined Networks
- Microsoft Cloud solutions (Azure, O365 etc.)
- Automation technologies such as Terraform.
- Microsoft operating systems (Server 2012, 2016, 2019) (Windows 10)
- Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policies
- Linux server OS' (RHEL/CentOS 6, 7, 8)
- Database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB or InfluxDB)
- Virtualisation management experience (VMware, XenServer, OpenStack or Hyper-V)
- PKI and certificate services
