Senior Data Engineer
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join one of our public sector clients.
- Rate: Up to £550pd
- Contract length: 12 months (Inside IR35)
- Location: National
- Travel: Hybrid (1-2 days per week to nearest local office)
The role
working in the End User Computing service area. Your role will be responsible for providing the data engineering capabilities required to support a major unstructured data migration of documents from Azure into SharePoint Online.
Key Skills
- You can undertake data profiling and source system analysis to understand data categories and classifications (including the classification of unstructured data).
- You can produce, maintain and update relevant data models as required for different project phases.
- Be able to help identify and use appropriate tools for data investigations and modelling.
- Be able to provide actionable data analyses that support and reassure users in adopting a ROT approach to data pre-migration.
- Proficient at providing data analytics that support migration planning and testing functions.
- Be able to advocate data governance, compliance and data management standards and produce documentation and guidelines for the team's products and service.
- Experience of identifying and documenting source-to-target mappings including any transformations needed (familiar with ETL processes)
- Assist in the development of scripts or other automated methods to enable data to be migrated effectively and efficiently from source to target environment.
Desirable skills
- Familiarity with the architecture of SharePoint Online, modern design principles or experience of working with other document repositories.
- tools to implement data classifications and categories governance and of some common migration tools related to SharePoint Online.
- Power BI or other Business Intelligence tools would be useful to assist report visualisations.
