GSA Techsource is currently recruiting for a Workspace Delivery Engineer to work for a financial client.

The successful candidate will be supporting the operational delivery of the clients Virtual Desktop Estate and its associated services.

Essential Skills:
  • Knowledge of the Citrix product suite over multiple product versions, including (but not limited to) Virtual Apps and Desktop and NetScaler (The ability to install, configure and manage Citrix NetScalers).
  • Ivanti User Workspace Manager.
  • Experience of design, implementation and support of Citrix solutions for multiple environments.
  • Technical ownership of project delivery and engaging closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others to address day to day faults ranging from user maintenance and desktop performance to high visibility faults impacting many users.
  • The ability to research solutions outside ones typical skill set is a strong plus.
  • Ability to diagnosis hardware, security, and application issues
  • Solid knowledge and experience with Windows 10/11 and application delivery/packaging solutions - including application streaming, sequencing and isolation.
  • Experience with standard change management and configuration policies
Beneficial Skills:

Experience working with or supporting one or more of the following technologies would be an advantage:
  • Microsoft App-V
  • Office 365
Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed design documentation on medium to large scale for End User Service solutions, considering infrastructure and environmental factors
  • Ensure project involvement is aligned to the Project Life Cycle Management, adhering to the four phases, conception, planning, execution and termination
  • Identify Service Improvements and package these up into a proposal detailing the problem, the impact, the proposed solution and associated effort to implement.
  • Provides specialist guidance and some supervision to less experienced colleagues. Analyses work in progress, takes action to ensure targets are met within safety and quality procedures, including hand-over to client where appropriate.
  • Experience of capacity and performance analytics which can be drawn from when making customer recommendations in order to ensure solutions are efficient and optimally scaled.
  • Provides specialist guidance and some supervision to less experienced colleagues. Analyses work in progress, takes action to ensure targets are met, including hand-over to client where appropriate.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with internal customers and vendors and able to thrive in the ever changing work environment
  • Deliver ITIL driven support via Incident, Problem and Change Management.
  • Initiates action to maintain or improve services and standards within area of authority, recognising issues that need to be escalated. .
  • Plays a leading role in scheduling implementation work, liaising with all concerned to ensure that requirements and/or priorities are met and disruption to the organisation is minimised.
  • Assists with preparation of implementation procedures with fall back contingency plans. Installs and tests new versions of system software.
  • Investigates potential and actual service problems and recommends solutions. Follows formal procedures to plan and test proposed solutions.
  • Prepares and maintains operational documentation for relevant systems/services. Advises systems development and service delivery staff on the correct and effective use of system software.
  • Gathers performance statistics from the IT platforms to enable recommendations for optimisation/service improvements.
The successful candidate will be required to work in the London office 3 days a week.

This role falls Inside IR35.
