Role:

In partnership with a large IT consultancy, we are seeking a highly experienced DB2 Sysprog Engineer on a contract basis.

You will sit within the UK Mainframe team of three supporting a nuclear IT systems Maintenace, programming and management which has been in service for 7+ years. Most recently migrating in 2017.

Responsibilities:

• Implementation of best practice across the testing, integration, and fixes of problems within the DBA system.

• Ability to support other Mainframe accounts while workload is low.

• Aid in latest DB2 software installations, configurations & maintenance of database environments.

• Fluent in SQL and DB2 programming languages

• Expert in database design, development and investigation

• Experience in performance tuning and optimization

• Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures

Key Tech stack:

• MD, DB, Sysprog DB2 Expert

• Wider stack used within other Mainframe accounts:

• Adabas, MA, IMS Knowledge
