Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit Software Developer for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £600-£650/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with at least 1 day in the office per week.

Responsibilities:

- Based on a detailed understanding of software capabilities and business processes, develop, integrate and/or implement high quality business software systems using a variety of different technologies to agreed technical and business specifications.
- Produce technical design specifications for software systems which will most effectively implement the required business functionality using the chosen technologies.
- Produce comprehensive and clear technical documentation for new software systems so that project and support staff are able to fully understand and support the software.
- Provide technical advice to colleagues so that projects are delivered to the highest possible standard and informed decisions can be made.
- Build and maintain relationships to ensure effective on-going stakeholder engagement with projects.

Essential Skills:

- Python
- PHP
- Extensive experience in building large Django applications
- Solid Web UI foundation skills - HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Good understanding of APIs - REST, OpenAPI

Desirable Skills:

- Yii framework
- Laravel framework
- Experience of integration work, for example iPaaS, integration patterns
- Awareness of security concerns surrounding web applications
