Commercial Manager (Procurement)

• Remote/Travel to Belfast 3 days every second week.

Leading engineering defence services company is actively recruiting for an experienced Commercial Manager to assist with the commercial management and administration of a portfolio of works, ensuring compliance with the contract terms and conditions and Company and Group policies, procedures and delegated authorities. Ensure the portfolio is effectively managed and targeted to deliver or better forecast revenue, margins and cash projections, whilst mitigating business risk and commercial exposure. Develop and maintain long term strategic client, supply chain and business function relationships, and ensure the core values of the Company are upheld at all times.

Key commercial deliverables are inclusive of:

• Cost control;
• Cash collection (original scope, change control and claims)
• Change control management
• Claims management (time and cost)
• Sub-contract procurement
• Contractual notifications (delay, loss and/or expense, practical completion, etc.)
• Contract close-out/final account

Ensure an efficient project meeting structure is in place with suitable commercial and wider project team representation that aids in maximising commercial opportunity and minimising risk. This would be inclusive of:

• Weekly Cost Value Comparison (CVC) reviews
• Risk and opportunities workshops
• Projects reviews
• Sub-contractor/supplier account meetings
• Client account meetings
• Client commercial meetings

Essential experience for the position of Commercial Manager (Procurement)

• BSc (hons) in Quantity Surveyor or equivalent qualification
  • Experience of administering different contract forms
  • Track record of delivering portfolios of work of varying values/complexity
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal) and skilled negotiator
  • MRICS
  • Formal leadership training or qualification.
