Flint is looking for is an experienced Release Manager to work onsite for one of the market leaders within the telecommunications industry.
Performing this critical role you will have daily interactions with projects, workstreams and delivery leads ensuring the effective delivery of technology and change through co-ordinated release schedules and process.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the successful test and release planning of key projects aligned to the success of the HR programme, this should be done through a consistent approach to product delivery utilising best practice and standards while leveraging the appropriate tools and methodologies to achieve desired outcomes. The role will see the candidate own the release management life cycle across the enterprise for multiple projects and workstreams ensuring the safe execution of tasks and activities which are key to the successful delivery of the product throughout the application life cycle.
To succeed in this role, the candidate must have a meticulous attention to detail, able to manage multiple workstreams and activities while identifying risks, dependencies, and issues. The successful candidate will also need to have a detailed working knowledge of tool driven delivery at scale, near zero touch test and release automation is central to the ambitions of the area and product team. Product quality and reliability is a t the heart of our operation and the successful candidate will own and manage Quality and Assurance (QA) across the test and release cycle, role will also see the candidate manage and own future test and release strategy. Communication skills both written and verbal are essential and the ability to chair and host meetings and produce key reporting to senior leadership is a must. Ideal candidate will also have Vendor and partner management skills, role will involve working as part of a multi-disciplinary teams within Waterfall, Agile or Hybrid ways of working.
Key Accountabilities and Deliverables
- Previous experience of working as a Release Manager in telecoms
- Owning and managing the full E2E release management life cycle for HRIS and its associated platforms and systems
- Owning and defining strategy for the release management life cycle, future ways of working and service enhancements and innovation.
- Reviewing and assessing Project plans and workstreams, coordinating and agreeing activities and actions required for product release.
- Implementing and managing a consistent approach to release management driving product quality and reliability. Developing runbooks, use case scenarios and release plans.
- Measuring and monitoring progress and overall effectiveness and efficiency of release, identifying areas of improvement and workflow process.
- Preparation and production of documentation and reporting materials for reviews and meetings. Managing release performance, risks, issues, and problems.
- Maintain release processes, run books, automations, and tool driven configurations. Correctly manage automation process, versions and associated artefacts and configurations securely.
- Lead, contribute and challenge projects, groups and workstreams. Active participation in planning and release forums providing constructive feedback and analysis.
Attributes, Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills
- Highly capable with a background in IT, Transformation and Change
- Awareness of AWS Cloud Services and technology
- Experienced in delivering IT products and services using multiple methodologies, ie, Waterfall, Agile Collaboration Tools (Teams, Atlassian)
- Experience in managing Vendors and Partners to achieve common goals and outcomes within complex change roadmaps and environments
- Strategic and objective decision making demonstrating balanced consideration of technical and business issues.
- Strong planning and organisation skills, ability to manage and maintain multiple projects and workstreams
- A strong communicator able to connect with multiple audiences on multiple mediums.
- Experience of analysing, assessing, and resolving complex risks and issues to release roadmaps identifying opportunity and enablers
- Demonstrated ability to implement processes, metrics, and operational rigor ensuring QA, best practice, and standards
- Experience with Tool Driven delivery and associated toolchains to achieve test and release automation
- Through understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
