Web Developer - 100% Remote (UK)
Our Client is a prominent charity providing services through a number of channels throughout the UK. As with most businesses, their website is a key tool for marketing, communication and with an E-commerce element for donations and product purchases too.
Due to increased demand for new features, improved functionality and to make the website more and more efficient, they now need a Web Developer to join the team.
Indicative role and responsibilities:
- Requirements Management - Collaborate with stakeholders and document requests for new features, enhancements and new web sites/systems. Demonstrates functional and technical specifications and/or user story-based specifications, which you have written and led.
- Development - Design, develop and deploy software applications to meet user and business needs. Write maintainable code and create reusable components where appropriate. Mainly comprising of ASP.NET web application development using C#, MVC, JavaScript and CSS with a specific focus on CMS platforms and E-commerce.
- Continuous Improvement - Support and improve systems, processes and information management to ensure that the client realises the full benefit of its investment in ICT
- Quality - Produces quality standards and helps ensure developments and implementations adhere to these
- Testing - Conduct code testing to ensure bugs and issues are addressed prior to release for user acceptance testing.
- Documentation - Maintain documentation for requirements, development progress and technical aspects so that other developers can maintain your work.
- Collaboration - Collaborate with the development team to share useful techniques and discuss approaches and issues.
- Deployment - Deploying solutions to the hosting environment and keeping related documentation up to date.
- Maintenance - Maintaining the hosting environment and performing upgrades to the web site.
Experience:
- Web Development experience with C#, MVC, CSS, HTML, JavaScript
- Good Back End SQL Server development skills and understand how websites hang together
- Experience developing with CMS ideally Enterprise level and ideally Kentico but any C# based CMS would be highly desirable, but any CMS experience is of interest if combined with the other web development skills
- Ability to capture requirements, design and develop and assist other lesser experienced Developers where required.
- This role is 20% Front End and the rest is mid tier and Back End development.
Desirable Skills:
- Microsoft Azure PaaS hosting platform is used here and would desirable if you have this
- Experience of using third party APIs to develop integrations with other systems
- Experience of using web pack JavaScript build tools
- Experience of developing .NET Core solutions
- Experience of developing E-commerce platforms
The team is small (4) and work a 9-day fortnight with 35hrs per week.
