Linux/Unix Sys Admin (Cloud/DevOps) - Permanent

  • Location: Cheltenham
  • Type: (Remote until DV Cleared - then 5 days on-site)
  • Security Clearance: MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR SC & DV CLEARANCE (Sole British National & 10 years continuous residence in the UK)
  • Salary: £40k - £65k based on Seniority

Are you a LinuxSystem Administrator with a core skill set in Linux & Scripting, that wants to join an organisation that make a real difference to UK Security?

They have the capacity to bring on a number of Unix System Admins at a variety of levels of experience.

Role responsibilities:

  • Provide first and second level technical support on incidents and problems
  • Monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth system functionality
  • Create, maintain, and utilise documentation
  • Assist building compliance with processes and policies

What you will bring to the team:

  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Working to ITIL best practices
  • Desire to improve processes, looking for the root cause of a problem
  • Willingness to both share your knowledge and learn from others
  • A proactive approach towards looking for risks and problems

Desirable Skills and Technologies

  • Exposure to automation software such as Ansible/Puppet
  • Experience or knowledge of various Red Hat related products, including Satellite 6, OpenShift 3/4, RHEL/CentOS 6/7/8, and RHEL Atomic/CoreOS
  • Knowledge of Scripting with Bash, Python, and/or Git
  • Experience of AWS
  • Basic understanding of CLI
