Reinsurance Control Analyst
*This role is a fixed term contract*
Key accountabilities
Strategy & Planning
* Awareness of the Aspen Re Underwriting Governance Framework and how it is supported by Reinsurance Operations
* Understanding of how Aspen Re operates through the Group's underwriting platforms and of the specific underwriting governance issues for each platform and Product Segment
* Supports business performance by monitoring that underwriting decisions are made within the scope and limitations of the individual authority delegated to underwriters.
* Collaborates and supports continued transformational development and improvement in underwriting governance
Policy, Process & Procedures
* Manages the process for issuing and maintaining Letters of UnderwritingAuthority.
* Maintains the LoA tracker, reporting quarterly to the PSCM on performance against agreed SLA's for timeliness and accuracy of LoA's issued.
* Manages the process for ensuring that the Subscribe rules for monitoring individual authorities are promptly and accurately maintained.
* Manages the processes for reviewing and resolving any notifications triggered by the Subscribe rules, escalating to the PSCM any items that indicate a breach of authority Enviromental Awareness/Customer
Focus
* Acts as the primary point of referral for underwriting teams on all queries concerning the application and interpretation of the authority delegated under individual LoA's.
* Acts as the primary point of referral for governance functions on all queries concerning the scope and content of LoA's and the resolution of Subscribe rule notifications.
* Supports CUO to achieve a consistent and transparent cascade of underwriting authority across Aspen Re underwriting teams.
* Liaises with underwriting controls colleagues in Insurance Segment to share knowledge, agree best practice and achieve consistency of approach where practicable.
Skills & experience
Knowledge
* Excellent knowledge of core (re)insurance principles, premium recognition and types of contract wordings
* Strong understanding of reinsurance cycles and procedures
* Good working knowledge of business processes and company systems

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Strong technical and presentation skills
* Strong critical reasoning, numerical reasoning,problem solving, analytical and creative thinking skills
* Good networking skills
* Effective at managing conflicting priorities to achieve deadlines
