Finance and Business Services Team Leader
Finance and Business Services Team Leader| 23 Months (Outside IR35)| Hydrid (Edinburgh)
Harvey Nash's client is recruiting for a Finance & Business Services Team Leader on a 23 month contract.
Main Duties
Main duties include but are not limited to:
- Line manage a team of circa 4 staff in areas including service delivery, annual leave, and sickness absence;
- Deputise for the Assistant Head when required, to ensure the continuous delivery of the client's finance and business services.
- Develop extensive knowledge of the client's information management and finance systems, policies, standard operating procedures and working practices.
- Undertake financial administration duties, both transactional and analytical, including approving purchase orders up to a pre-set signing limit.
- Assist with creating business cases for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies as required.
- Develop effective relationships, internally and externally, to ensure a productive working relationship with colleagues in the various business areas, along with external stakeholders, such as suppliers.
- Be responsible for the recruitment and induction processes including, but not limited to, the creation of SCOTS accounts, allocating equipment and passes.
- Review, compare, and analyse suppliers' products and services.
Essential Skills
- HND/Degree in a relevant Finance or Business course or relevant work experience
- Administrative and finance experience
- Extensive experience in a high performing, results driven environment, whilst working with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to work under pressure, plan, prioritise, manage competing demands, and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience of continuous improvement techniques
- A high degree of resilience
- IT literate, with strong knowledge in MS 365, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Analytical mind-set, with excellent numerical and analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and present it in a clear and logical format.
- Previous experience of people management
- Flexibility to work across various functions.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
