We're on the hunt for a talented Packet Core Tester to work with a Tier 1 mobile network operator on a contract basis. If you have a passion for all things telecoms and love diving into the nitty-gritty details of packet core testing, then this role is perfect for you!

As a Packet Core Tester, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and performance of our network's packet core elements. You'll work closely with our engineering team to develop and execute comprehensive test plans, identifying any issues or bugs that may arise. Your expertise in telecommunications will be key as you validate network protocols, troubleshoot problems, and provide recommendations to enhance system performance.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute test plans for packet core elements.

2. Validate network protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards.

3. Perform functional and non-functional testing to identify system issues.

4. Troubleshoot and debug problems in the network infrastructure.

5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve system performance.

6. Create detailed reports documenting test results, findings, and recommendations.

7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in packet core technology.

Requirements

1. Prior experience as a Packet Core Tester or similar role in the telecommunications industry

2. In-depth knowledge of packet core elements such as GGSN, SGSN, PGW, SGW, etc.

3. Familiarity with network protocols including GTP, IPsec, SIP, Diameter, etc.

4. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

5. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

6. Good understanding of test methodologies and tools used in telecommunications.

7. Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

8. Telecommunications-related certifications (eg, CCNA, CCNP) would be a plus.
