You, as a Senior Back End Engineer (NodeJS & TypeScript, Azure stack: Functions, Search, CosmosDB & Networking), will be part of the development team. You will be responsible for the development and testing of our Integration Catalog. Furthermore, you will be delivering high-quality code and managing the Catalog platform itself in Azure Cloud.

The Integration Catalog is an enterprise-wide application, where you can find all ready-to-use integration services, explore their details and subscribe to them.

Information on services is made available via our dashboards. All services in the Catalog are rated against design, quality, and security standards, based on the data provided.

About the team

We are a fun and diverse squad, consisting of men and women of all levels of experience, coming from all over the world. Currently, we are a squad of 5 engineers, a Product Owner, a Scrum Master, and a Solution Architect. But we are expanding our engineers base! Next to the day-to-day work, we also make time for innovation during sprints and Hackathons. We participate in guilds, work on our personal development and we do teambuilding events as well.

About your role
As a senior Back End engineer, your role requires extensive knowledge of Back End technology. You are able to design technical features and track the quality and security of the team deliverables. We expect you to mentor and coach your team members. Furthermore, you produce ways to assure their learning curve and challenge them.

Responsibilities

• You code in our Back End application to deliver new features.
• You test your own code and that of your team members.
• You enable incorporating new integrations into the Catalog.
• You proactively help your team to grow in the Agile way of working and team autonomy.
• You take part in the Genius of the Week. This means you are the first point of contact for other teams when it comes to Integration needs. You assist them with their questions, solve incidents and bugs, or onboard them on our platform.
• You are a great mentor to your team members and have experience in training/coaching/pair programming.

Skills

• A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Computer Science or similar;
• At least 4 years of experience in at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, Typescript) and cloud infrastructure technology (Azure);
• Knowledge of design patterns and test practices (unit, integration);
• Understanding of microservices, REST API, and event-driven architectures;
• Good knowledge of database design (SQL and NoSQL) and distributed systems;
• Ability and willingness to work on multiple programming languages;
• Understanding of Agile and familiarity with the concepts of Scrum and the DevOps way of working;
• Experience with test automation (component and unit testing);
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Ability to bring topics to a higher abstraction level;

Not required, but certainly helpful:

• You have knowledge of Azure DevOps (pipelines);
• A basic understanding of Front End technologies, such as HTML5 and Angular;
• You have participated in code reviews before;
• You have active configuration management knowledge, like Bicep, ARM and Git;
• You have knowledge of and worked with Splunk before;
