Position Overview:

FDM Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Developer in Test to join our team in either Telford or Milton Keynes, UK. The Senior Software Developer in Test will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our software through automation testing, API testing, and the creation of test data. This role requires a deep understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and the ability to work collaboratively within a Scrum team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize 3-5 years of hands-on experience with automation testing to develop and maintain automated test scripts.
• Conduct API testing to ensure the reliability and functionality of software interfaces.
• Work with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases, including querying and creating test data.
• Collaborate effectively as a member of a Scrum team to deliver high-quality software.
• Perform extensive testing across different layers of Multi-Tier application architecture, including regression, GUI, system, Black Box, performance, and end-to-end testing.
• Manage and maintain test code in source control systems, such as Git.
• Implement Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber and Gherkin.
• Embrace a continuous improvement mindset to enhance testing processes and quality.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with Microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with Kafka for event-driven architecture testing.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as BHAT, Behave, or Cypress.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with automation testing.
• Proven experience in testing APIs.
• Proficiency in working with MySQL or PostgreSQL databases.
• Ability to work effectively within an Agile Scrum team.
• Strong background in testing Multi-Tier application architecture.
• Excellent knowledge of source control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience in implementing BDD using Cucumber and Gherkin.
