Job Title: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Stevenage, Hertfordshire
Salary: £27,000pa + Package
Hours: 8.30am till 5pm Monday - Thursday and till 1pm on a Friday
Package: 20+8 Holiday (increases with service), Full Sick Pay, Contributory Pension
Start Dates: ASAP
Our client is a leading manufacturer of electronic components and electro-mechanical equipment within the region. Working in the Accounts Department, you will be supporting our Company Accountant in all aspects of Management Accounting.
-Manage the Fixed Assets Register.
-Manage costings and review monthly costs to ensure good control of costs.
-Maintenance and production of the weekly performance report.
-Reconcile and report on intercompany returns.
-Analysis of stock and cost movements.
-Assist with tracking and reporting of customer stocks.
-Assist with job cost reviews and reporting.
-Preparation of accounts up to trial balance, in order to produce and analyse management accounts and KPIs.
-Month-end reporting, ensuring that the ledgers are all closed to strict deadlines.
-Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounts; confirm that the accounts are reflective of underlying financial performance.
-Make certain that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner, including review and sign off.
-Maintain VAT records and quarterly payments.
-Maintain Customs Duty and VAT records.
To provide support as required to:
-Purchase Ledger: inputting purchase invoices within the department and dealing with any queries regarding returns, prices, supplier payments etc.
-Sales Ledger: controlling transactions and applying cash, chasing overdue payments and dealing with queries.
-Payroll: assisting with the weekly and monthly payroll for the business, including the reconciliation of all payroll balance sheet accounts.
-Qualified or studying towards AAT
-Good attention to detail
-Further study: ACCA, CIMA…
