Vacancy: Customer Service – Aftermarket Engineering

£20,000 - £25,000 + Annual Bonus + Very Competitive Package

Location: West Yorkshire

The Company

My client is a market leader within their industry and have a vacancy for a Contracts Engineer. They have strategic plans for further aftermarket expansion and are committed to developing and nurturing talent and the future workforce.

This position will have responsibility for spare parts activity in the U.K. and across Western Europe. The role with specifically include reviews of spare parts enquiries, checking S/N’s against records, interfacing with factories, sales force and sales representatives, along with order processing and expediting.

What the role involves:

Prepare quotations interpret / clarify customer needs select correct parts

Produce all quotation to customers out lining required parts

Handle and communicate customer's queries

Work with Sales professionals to follow up with customers on parts / aftermarket quotes

Enter and maintain parts orders

Communicate with internal teams / export on expediting orders

Interpret customer requirements and coordinate special requests

Communicate order status to customers

Follow orders through to shipped stage and advise customers

Coordinate with customers the return of wrong or incorrectly ordered parts through RMO (return material order) process

Resolve discrepancies

Assist in collection issues on invoices

Maintain / communicate active offers and sales results to managers

Prepare monthly reports as required

Supporting sales and visit customers as required

Maintain and update serial number records

Proactively suggest process improvements

Contribute to a culture of LEAN thinking and continuous improvement

Acting as a facilitator between Sales, External Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded

Any other job deemed necessary by the management


Good understanding of engineering and Industrial experience in spare parts selection with 3-5 years’ experience in the spare parts industry.

Demonstrates a desire to help grow the business.

A team player.

Shows initiative, is innovative & is a self-starter

Time management – Dedicating specific time periods to multiple activities to ensure accurate results whilst meeting

Negotiation skills - The ability to find best solutions or alternatives acceptable to project sponsors.

Resilience - The ability to keep control of any type of situation, to break problems down into manageable elements and driving teams to project completion.

Polished communication both verbal and written - and a professional appearance.

Outgoing and interested in working with people on a daily basis.

Proven ability to effectively motivate and leverage the skills and competencies of individuals

Extensive training in the range of company products will be given
