What to know about this role?

The Underwriting and Product Analyst is a quite unique role to our business that supports teams across Central Customer Support, Quality, Change, IT & Distribution amongst others by providing professional technical product support.

Your role will be have 2 elements to it:

* BAU (Business As Usual): This will include writing and maintaining our single policy wording, scheme reviews, policy wording library updates, speedy resolution of queries, recording, reporting and escalating queries, etc

* Query Resolution: You will put processes in place for investigations for product disclosure, scripts, marketing material and will do detailed analysis on the questions we ask our customers and the overall customer journey. You will have at least an hour a week of personal development scheduled in your diary. There are a number of online resources you will be granted access to develop yourself and learn more about insurance. You will also can apply for further studies – CII

Who do you report into?

You will report into the Product Insight Manager that leads this team and works very closely with the product team. This manager has been with Swinton for 20 years and has progressed in a number of different roles. They are an insurance expert and are passionate about Swinton and the Insurance Industry.

They have a straight forward management style in which they like to set clear expectations and give you freedom to work in your own style as long as you are able to demonstrate accuracy, pace and quality work.

They are very knowledgeable about the business and feel strongly about having a good team culture and work life balance, likes helping people get the best out of themselves.

What are your top challenges in this role?

1 Managing a flow of constantly changing priorities Increasing the product knowledge across the business to deliver a better service to our customers

2 Have a sound understanding of the regulatory requirements of this role and adapt to regulatory change.

What skills & experience do you require?

You will be a confident professional with insurance knowledge and have worked in a regulatory environment. Your attention to detail will be excellent and you always thrive to deliver high standard work. You will have knowledge of insurance systems, products and regulations.

Who are your key relationships?

Your role will require stakeholder management across levels from associate to heads of departments, so you will have strong communication skills to manage your relationships effectively.
