Let's talk about your role.

Be responsible for the collation of project and programme plans across the change portfolio. Building and maintaining a plan for a rolling 15 month change portfolio and beyond, identifying key interdependencies and risks across the portfolio. Impact analysis for new/amended change initiative's and modelling scenario's for delivery options with time/cost/quality impacts.

Define, implement and embed good planning practice across the portfolio, and actively engage in project-planning meetings to determine overall project delivery timeline and maintain an accurate picture at the portfolio level

Maintain the project/programme dependencies register, and make an active contribution to the identification of new dependencies, ensuring they have a clear owner, and identifying impacts on the integrated plan and intervening as necessary to drive appropriate actions

Work with the core teams to align the portfolio plan with roadmaps to ensure the deliverability of the projects /programmes

Key responsibilities:

At Portfolio level you will consolidate programme and project plans to provide an overall portfolio view, audit plans to published planning standards, produce portfolio plans and reports and work with the planning team to allocate the appropriate resources.

Understanding the impacts of small change to the portfolio and identifying opportunities to confluence change where appropriate

Own Portfolio planning processes and central resource supply and demand forecasting (including central resource plan, road maps, dependencies, analysis and trends) to enable portfolio prioritisation and decision making

Support and champion key project governance and best practice initiatives.

Own the collation of portfolio of RAID log (Risks & issues etc) management (across IT and projects)

Governance Meeting administration including UK CDO pack production, minutes, actions, management of annual schedule/calendar, meeting bookings, RAID updates

Ensure Portfolio alignment to project plans, resource forecasts, risk & issues through chairing regular meetings with Project Managers & the IT community.

Working with key business stakeholders to input, monitor and track SME demand across the Change Portfolio and business initiatives.

Project Management of Small Change Process including; Chairing and facilitating weekly Small Change/Projects Triage meeting, Running twice-weekly project stand-ups, management of Small Change backlog, managing business & IT stakeholders, reporting to triage committee on progress & status.

Own and conduct scenario analysis, providing options and recommendations to Head of PMO for escalated portfolio challenges/conflicts/issues

Identify improved Project Portfolio Management tooling and work within Lowell policies and processes

Identify steps to establish UK PMO function in terms of reporting and resource forecasting across the UK

Act as the primary source of documentation, guidance and metrics to manage the project portfolio and the practice of project management and execution across the group, continuously improving and promoting Change Management and PMO processes by liaising with and reporting to key stakeholders across IT and the wider business community.

Engage and collaborate with 3rd parties / suppliers to align Business and IT strategies.

Ensure alignment of delivery options to the commercial and IT strategies

Engage with regulatory and policy representatives with a view to deliver the portfolio within a compliant frameworkHow do we say thank you?

Prior planning and resource management experience of a complex, high value portfolio or programme within an complex environment

Proven experience in, and detailed knowledge of, project management practices, standards and methodologies.

Experience of defining and embedding standards and best practices, including coaching and capability development.

Demonstrable experience in the active use of portfolio management tools,

Experienced at building detailed content knowledge and using this to influence planning activities and decisions.

Experienced in analysing and extracting top level information to be shared with senior stakeholders.

Experience in collaborative working across a large and diverse organization

Experience and competency across the following core PMO and Delivery activities : Estimation, planning, governance, project/development lifecycle, reporting and metrics , governance, Issue/Risk management, lessons learnt & continuous improvement processesBusiness and Personal Leadership/skills and attitudes

Knowledge and/or experience of Change Management processes and frameworks

Good communication skills with an ability to deliver consistent messages to all levels of the company; building confidence in change

Analytical skills with the ability to present, shape and analyse data and trends including Project and IT KPIs

Advanced Excel including pivot tables, formulas and macros and good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products particularly PowerPoint
