We are going through a period of rapid expansion (we have doubled in size over the last two years) as our ground-breaking new product comes to market. Our environment is one where innovation, adaptability and team work are key. We are looking to strengthen our core team with an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to undertake a pivotal role within our smart, well-funded manufacturing facility.
As Manufacturing Engineer your role will be diverse and often project led as we continue to ramp up production and continue to support new product development.
There is considerable opportunity as Manufacturing Engineer to make a real tangible difference within manufacture as we continue to evolve our products and take our newest products through from prototype stage to full scale manufacture.
A real passion for lean / continuous improvements is sought to help achieve increased production output figure forecast for the next twelve months.
Key accountabilities for Manufacturing Engineer will include:
l Supporting new product development projects including selection of suppliers (and negotiate with re delivery etc) for production related equipment for new lines,
l Driving continuous improvement and using lean tools such as FMEA's during design for manufacture (DFM) stages to embed product quality early on
l Generating/Updating/Implementation of Build Processes / manufacturing routing and writing work instructions
l Supporting the design and manufacture of test equipment and provision of support for and new test equipment
l Driving Improvement through Root Cause Analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action with Engineering through Engineering Change, Production through Process Yields and Suppliers with Returns and Supplier Corrective and Preventive Actions.
l Create a controlled environment for production using documentation and training for existing, new and revised improvements.
The successful candidate will have the ability to innovate and support all aspect of design for manufacture / assembly / test, identify areas for streamlining, and improvements then project manage the implementation of these initiatives.
The ideal candidate will ideally be degree qualified or have commensurate experience with several years Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering experience within a complex mechanical or elec/mech manufacturing environment. A green belt six sigma or similar lean qualification ideally sought or proven experience of the application of lean tools and initiatives such as Six Sigma, Kaizan, DFM, SPC, 5S, FMEA's
