Location: Mapperley, Nottingham
£16.00 to £21.00 per hour paye plus holiday or £20.40 to £25.00 per hour umbrella depending on skill and experience
Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, 9am-5.30pm
This role could involve travelling around different locations and sites, the successful candidate must be flexible to travel in the surrounding locations
The environment is a Cisco based network. The key technologies in use are Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cisco Wireless Lan Controllers and Access Points, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Cisco Access Control Server, Cisco IP Telephony & Cisco Unified Call Manager v11.x.
An experienced network engineer is required with significant experience to work as a senior member of a small team. The successful candidate must work independently in a combination of "business as usual" work together with project related work. They must also be able to assess current environment, make recommendations based on best practices in a real enterprise environment and document. Only engineers with proven demonstrable experience who can "hit the ground running" should apply.
Taking a lead role to review the environment and recommend how the configuration can be standardised and how the processes can be improved.
Work with vendors and partners to resolve incidents, implement solutions and provide tactical and long-term solutions.
Plan changes; seek approval from line management and the Change Advisory Board.
Provide guidance/training to other members of the team
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Educated to degree/HND/CISCO (CCNA/CCNP) or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
Significant Cisco ASA firewall experience
Excellent hands on experience of configuring and administering Cisco Identity Services Engine
Excellent hands on experience of configuring and administering Cisco switching (access, distribution and core) and routing
Excellent knowledge of Cisco Wireless Lan Controller and Access Points. Knowledge of "on boarding" Apple devices onto the corporate Wi-Fi network would be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience of using Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Cisco Access Control Server
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Can work independently and with the team to define, investigate and lead on improving our network infrastructure.
Able to understand and create detailed documentation and Handover to Support documentation for both technical and non-technical staff, for example Service Desk.

* Can communicate technical information to staff, colleagues and others as required.Able to develop and maintain relationships with colleagues, customers and other associated organizations
* Experience of working within the NHS.
* Experience in coordinating or leading on technical projects.
* Knowledge of Cisco IP telephony and Cisco Unified Call Manager v11.x is desirable but not essential
