Salary: £61,400 - £91,800 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonus
Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
In this role you will lead and facilitate the analysis and design tasks required to develop the solution architecture for SSE projects related to the rollout of the Smart Meter mandate across the UK. Providing high level design guidance and co-ordination for project and programme level solutions, you will guide solution architects and development assignments across several projects and complex programmes.
Creating high level solution models and solution architectures, including solution patterns/blueprints, you will guide decisions for the enterprise for assigned projects aligned to business requirements and programme roadmaps. You will be the design authority on projects ensuring adherence to architecture and design standards, the target and Enterprise architectures.
Along with these duties you will provide a directional role in the application of architecture and design standards and will promote best practice across SSE. You will develop, coach, motivate and inspire your team to deliver in all that they do.
This is a high profile role, where you will be communicating daily with a wide range of stakeholders, from C-Level executives to Technical Designers so you will be able to deliver a message thats clear, engaging and accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your Skills and Experience
We need you to join the team with the following business knowledge;
-Experience of operating in a large scale organisation with structured project management and architecture methods
-Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations and translate these into technical solutions
-Understanding of the enterprise's political climate and how to respond to the external environment
-Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
-It would be a benefit if you have experience working with Smart metering
We also would like you to hold the following technical and functional skills;
-Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
-Programme and Project solution architecture experience
-Practical experience of working with an enterprise architecture using standard architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and / or Zachman
-Practical experience of business process re-engineering standards and processes
-Practical experience of implementing information values and policies
-Working knowledge of financial models and budgeting
-Strong understanding of network and data centre architecture, as well as application development methodologies
-Familiarity with architecture and design approaches to include SOA, object-oriented analysis and design
-You will be skilled in stakeholder management and will be able to influence and negotiate across all levels of your organisation.
