About the Job
The Technical Consultant - Infrastructure is a senior technical role within the IT Operations and Support Team.
You will become part of an Infrastructure Network Team which is accountable for the successful delivery of high availability infrastructure services for internal and external customers with an availability SLA of 99.5%. Working within a wider team of around 15 IT specialists, you will work closely with the technical and leadership teams to deliver and support infrastructure solutions that meet customer needs which are in keeping with corporate behaviours (i.e. do the right thing, keep it simple and deliver on promises)
This is a key technical role that requires analytical problem-solving skills and the ability, at times, to work under pressure.
Due to the nature of the work some flexible working is required, hours covered are currently 7am - 7pm with an average of 7.5 hours worked daily between these times.
After the initial six months probationary period, his role attracts an "on-call" allowance with the candidate expected to participate with the existing "on call" rota on a 1 week in 4 basis.
About the Candidate
The successful Technical Consultant - Infrastructure will have
- Strong 3rd Line Support experience (Windows Server System)
- Active Directory administration and configuration skills
- VMWare Design Configuration, Deployment and Administration experience
- An understanding of WAN, LAN and VPM technologies
- Knowledge of Network and Telephony security principles
- An understanding of Technical Project Management
Any of the following would be accreditations (or equivalent) would be advantageous: VMWare certification, Microsoft Certifications, Amazon AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
Any Linux experience would also be a bonus as would experience of Disaster Recovery practices and implementation and/or Powershell/Scripting.
