You will undertake all duties connected with locating and confirming the current whereabouts of customers by use of both telephone and databases in order to maximise the recovery of any monies outstanding.
You will ensure that all customer records are updated in accordance with company and industry guidelines and ensure that all information gathered during the course of any investigation is clearly noted onto the in-house debt management system. Any outbound or inbound telephone activity undertake must be done so in a professional manner and may be undertaken on a shift pattern that ensures maximum effective contact opportunities.
To effectively and efficiently process trace enquiries received on behalf of the company in accordance with the appropriate work instructions
To verify the residency of the customer by telephone contact or other compliant forms of confirmation
To undertake telephone communications with the customer or third parties in an articulate and professional manner
To maintain accurate and relevant records of all communications with customers and third parties on the database
To effectively research numerous databases to gain contact details and verify the current location of customers
To understand and utilise automated tracing tools to obtain possible forwarding addresses and confirm by manual telephone activity
To ensure all performance and productivity targets are achieved and maintained
To conform to all quality, legal and client requirements
To work towards continuous improvement and self-development
To work in accordance to quality instructions and guidelines
To carry out any ad-hoc duties as requested by your Line Manager
To ensure all department KPIs are consistently met as advised by the Head of department

What do we need from you?
To make the grade, you'll need the following expertise:
Trace experience not essential although would be beneficial to the individual
The ability to navigate around relevant databases and systems
Excellent telephone manner
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Self-motivated and pro-active with a positive attitude and drive for success
A flexible and responsive approach to changing business needs
The ability to work to tight deadlines and targets
Demonstrate attention to detail in completing procedures, documents and updating systems.
To work as part of a team as well as on own initiative
Professionalism at all time when dealing with both internal and external customers
