DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a successful pump and shower distribution company, established in 1989 to provide contractors and merchants with technical advice, specification, and supply of solutions to low water pressure, drainage, and hard water. With access to over 20 leading manufacturers, the company’s technical team is responsible for sizing products and putting together system packages for customers.

The company’s main business is selling pumps and associated equipment to plumbers and merchants along the M4 corridor, and is complimented by the high quality shower systems sold through their sister company.

Due to continued success the company is looking for a driven Technical Sales Manager to develop sales with existing accounts and seek out new business opportunities. The ideal candidate should have technical ability, pump and electrical knowledge, and be experienced in sales within a related market or industry. Appropriate training will be given to the right candidate.

JOB ROLE (not limited to)

In the role of Technical Sales Manager, you will:

Provide technical support and advice on the phone to customers, progressing to on-site surveys and fault-finding.

Provide detailed electronic quotes to customers.

Pro-actively drive forward sales by regularly following up on quotes and seeking out new projects from existing accounts.

Research new market opportunities and target new customers for maximising sales.

Source products and negotiate with suppliers.

Successfully negotiate with customers, using strong commercial acumen to convert quotes to orders and maximise the success of the business.

Create good working relationships with customers and promote business and product opportunities.

Provide aftercare support to customers through handling returns, organising replacement parts, and giving installation advice over the phone.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Must have a demonstrable track record in sales.

Experienced in the sale of technical products with a good understanding of pumps and electrics.

Capable of dealing with projects from specification through to completion.

Ideally, have experience in selling to tradespeople and merchants.

Commercially astute, professional, organised, and communicates well (verbally and in writing) with a keen attention to detail.

Flexible, can-do attitude, driven and pro-active.

Ability to work in a small team to deliver results.

Maths and IT skills.

Qualified to A level, HNC/HND or degree level, or have relevant experience.
