Data Engineer (Java AWS ETL) Remote UK to £85k + equity

Your Role:

As a Data Engineer, you'll play a key role in refining and optimising how data from various sources is ingested, processed, and cleansed for a rapidly growing commodity trading platform! You'll be building brand new data ingestion pipelines using Java, Python, SQL, and AWS, analysing and cleansing data, optimising ETLs, and will have the opportunity to influence the cloud data infrastructure design and take ownership of several end-to-end data projects.

There's always plenty of interesting work to get stuck into - the team are currently looking into using big data to build machine learning models to uncover new insights and create even more value for clients. There's also always an exciting challenge to tackle and if you join you can expect to work on challenges around horizontal scaling, multi-region deployment, and real-time data processing.

WFH / Office:

The company have a shared office space in central London if you do prefer an office environment however, you can work fully remotely from anywhere across the UK!

Requirements:

• You have significant commercial experience as a Data Engineer or similar
• You have strong experience of streaming data ETL
• You have strong experience of using Java for ingesting, manipulating, and loading data
• You ideally have had previous exposure to AWS (will consider other)
• You have expertise in SQL for querying and extracting / loading data
• You are happy being part of a growing and fast paced scale-up environment
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills
