The IG Manager & Assistant Data Protection Officer, in addition to day-to-day IG duties and advise will be accountable for undertaking the following key duties;

Information Governance Training and Awareness

• Responsible for the designing, implementation, managing and cascading a bespoke Solent NHS Trust Information Governance Training Programme

• Ensuring the training programme remains up-to-date and compliant with national requirements & legislation

• The training programme designed should include a variety of training options;

o Bespoke online training

o Face-to-face training

o Webinars

• Responsible for monitoring training compliance for the Trust and ensuring all staff (minimum of 95% of staff) are trained each financial year

• The delivering of bespoke training for staff within the Trust who have additional IG responsibilities, e.g. Information Asset Custodians and Owners.

• Responsible for the production of IG posters, adverts and other communications, to ensure that IG compliance is maintained throughout the Trust

• Responsible for ensuring effective communication of IG practices, both internally and externally

• Develop bespoke staff training and awareness sessions on Information Governance to ensure that staff are aware of their responsibilities and obligations

• Oversee and monitor the implementation of the Trusts publication scheme, ensuring it is maintained and kept up-to-date

• Ensure that relevant information and awareness of IG practices is communicated through both the Trust’s Intranet and Internet

Skills and Experience required -

• Educated to Degree Level (equivalent) or equivalent demonstrable experience in Information Governance

• Specialist qualification in Information Governance / Data Protection or equivalent demonstrable experience

• Postgraduate level qualification in Information Governance or equivalent experience

• Recognised qualification or experience in project management or equivalent

• Evidence of continued professional development

• In-depth specialist knowledge and experience of;

• Freedom of Information Act 2000

• Environmental Information Regulations 2004

• Data Protection Legislation

• NHS Records Management Code of Practice

• Significant experience of working in the NHS, or a public sector environment.

• Significant experience of being an Information Governance Lead

• Advanced experience of investigating possible IG incidents or evidence of identifying issues and problem solving

• Significant experience in resource planning

• Ability to interpret complex and technical information in clear and meaningful text.

• Excellent communication skills to establish understanding and requirements, this includes both verbally and in writing

• Up to date with relevant legislation and professional issues

• Demonstrate strong analytical and judgemental skills

• Demonstrate positive and effect problem solving skills

This role is inside the scope of IR35 and will pay £17.53 p/h PAYE (excluding holiday pay and pension) or £21.75 p/h Umbrella.
