Sewell Wallis are delighted to be exclusively working with an SME business within the hospitality sector, based just outside Cambridge city centre, in their search for a new Financial Controller.

Our client has recently gone through an acquisition and is looking to make a further one soon, therefore making it an exciting time to join them as they start their growth journey with a new and highly effective Finance Director.

This business does not shy away from the fact that there is a lot to improve upon within their finance team and overall commercial strategy. To address some of these issues, they want to appoint a Financial Controller to join their team and roll their sleeves up straight away! This is a great opportunity for someone to potentially develop into a number one finance position over time.

Leading a small finance team, your day will look something like this:-

-Prepare and analyse financial information and implement effective strategies to enhance overall business performance

-Preparing, developing and applying findings from financial reports

-Business partner closely with the management team on key financial decisions

-Support with future acquisitions

-Produce month end and year end journals

-Prepare monthly management accounts

-Support the FD with budgeting and cash flow forecasting requirements

-Manage capital expenditure

-Review company assets and liabilities

-Preparation of monthly payroll

To be considered for this role you will ideally have experience within the hospitality industry however this isn’t essential. They main thing is that you have experience working in an SME environment and that you aren’t afraid to roll your sleeves up and really get stuck into the detail of how the finance team is currently operating. You will be a part or qualified Accountant.

You must have strong experience of using Sage Line 50 and be a strong people Manager.
