Our client a leading IT Solutions Provider are seeking to recruit a HPC Consultant to work on site in Stockport 3 days a week and 2 days from home. This contract will be 1-2 months max in duration to assist with the onboarding of their recently installed HPC cluster.

1. Introduction to the PBSProfessional workload scheduler
2. Configuration of PBSProfessional to suite requirements: creating new queues, setting resource limits, writing custom 'hooks'
3. Introduction to Altair Access, assistance to users in running applications via Altair Access
4. Installation of Matlab
5. Installation of other simulation software suites if required Deep Learning
6. Installation of Bright Cluster Manager Deep Learning packages
7. Systems Level Activities Integration tasks
8. Provide Bright Cluster Manager expertise and Advise on best practices for cluster management.
9. Connection of cluster head, PBS, login Servers to Customer secure network
10. Creation of local user accounts for onboarding
11. Integration with Active Directory for user sign on
12. Assist with data transfer onto Isilon storage
13. Assist with configuration of backup client(s) Regular software updates
14. Update of Redhat OS libraries, packages and Kernel as required for security compliance
15. Update of Bright Cluster Manager libraries and packages
16. Update of server firmware: BIOS, iDRAC, network card drivers

Healthchecks

1. Monitoring using Bright Cluster Manager and Dell Openmanage
2. Configuration and testing of email alerts from Bright, Dell Openmanage. head nodes and storage Servers
3. Investigation of any hardware faults
4. Opening Support Requests and arranging hardware replacements
5. Stress testing of Servers post repair
6. Regular inspection of Infiniband network and investigation of any components showing excessive errors
