SC Cleared HPC Consultant - Active Directory, Dell Openmanage, SC Clearance

Our Leading Global Enterprise client is looking for a HPC Consultant to join their exciting team.

NOTE: SC Clearance is highly desirable

Job Description:

Scope of Services - HPC Services

• 3 days per week will be spent on-site at the customer site as requirements dictate.

1. The days that the HPC Consultant will attend the site shall be agreed between customer staff and the Consultant prior to each weekly visit.
2. The call off Services will take place over consecutive weeks.
3. Prior to arranging any onsite visits, objectives for that visit will be agreed between the Consultant and the Customer staff.

The Consultant will perform the following activities:
Application Level Activities

Simulation and Analysis:

• Introduction to the PBS Professional workload scheduler
• Configuration of PBS Professional to defined requirements: creating new queues, setting resource limits, writing custom hooks'
• Introduction to Altair Access, assistance to users in running applications via Altair Access
• Installation of Matlab
• Installation of other simulation software suites if required

Deep Learning:

• Installation of Bright Cluster Manager Deep Learning packages

Systems Level Activities
Integration Tasks:

• Provide Bright Cluster Manager expertise and Advise on best practices for cluster management.
• Connection of cluster head, PBS, login Servers to Customer secure network
• Creation of local user accounts for on-boarding
• Integration with Active Directory for user sign on
• Assist with data transfer onto Isilon storage
• Assist with configuration of backup client(s)

Regular software updates:

• Update of Redhat OS libraries, packages and Kernel as required for security compliance
• Update of Bright Cluster Manager libraries and packages
• Update of server firmware: BIOS, iDRAC, network card drivers

Healthchecks:

• Monitoring using Bright Cluster Manager and Dell Openmanage
• Configuration and testing of email alerts from Bright, Dell Openmanage. head nodes and storage Servers
• Investigation of any hardware faults
• Opening Support Requests and arranging hardware replacements
• Stress testing of Servers post repair
• Regular inspection of Infiniband network and investigation of any components showing excessive errors
