Integral part of a team of nurses who staff the 6 Guest First Aid facilities, located in each of the WDW theme parks and water parks.

In the scope of a Florida Registered nurse practice, and Disney policies and procedures, provide exceptional service and service recovery to guests who seek out First Aid services and assistance. When appropriate, and based on the assessment of the guest's situation, refer guests for higher care such as a local urgent clinic and/or emergency services.

This seasonal (CT) position is:
  • Required to submit availability quarterly and work a minimum of one weekend shift monthly
  • Required Seasonal Holiday working requirements
    • CTs will submit availability and work a minimum of 1 of the spring Holidays (defined as Easter or Memorial Day)
    • CTs will submit availability and work a minimum of 1 of the Summer Holidays (defined as July 4th or Labor Day)
    • CTs will work one of the two Winter Holidays (defined as Thanksgiving or Christmas) determined by a rotating schedule where you are assigned a team for the rotation
  • Required Minimum of 150 hours worked annually

Occasional overtime or alternate shift-work may be required. Will be required to work weekends and Holidays as above and on other business dynamics and/or department requirements.

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:
To do their jobs well, nurses need to have physical strength and stamina, the ability to move around freely, and the ability to see, hear and communicate well with guests and cast. Working conditions require standing for long periods of time. Frequent walking and lifting, squatting, pushing, pulling or carrying heavy objects throughout the shift. Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Frequent bending, stretching or twisting of the body. Frequent use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. A nurse needs physical strength and ability to kneel/squat to complete emergency procedures such as CPR.

Business/Work Environment:
Fast-Paced, Guest Interaction environment. Highly collegial, cooperative team management setting requiring close cooperation, intra-team consistency, and frequent communications. Collaboration with co-workers, leaders and operations partners on a daily basis. Full availability for scheduling Sun-Sat is needed. Shift times vary and can start as early as 7am and last until our parks close and/or special events end.

Responsibilities :
  • Follow established practices for care outlined under Florida RN licensure standards and DPEP Policies and standing orders
  • Expected to use critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities to accurately provide medical assessment and care. When appropriate, and based on the assessment of a guest's situation, refer guests to a higher level of care, such as local urgent clinics and/or emergency services
  • Ability to multi-task in a competent, efficient manner with solution-oriented work habits in a fast paced environment
  • Provide exceptional service and service recovery to guests who seek out First Aid services and assistance
  • Exhibit a positive and friendly attitude toward guests and fellow Cast Members
  • Establish great working relationships with Operations partners and emergency services teams to provide exceptional service to guests visiting First Aid
  • Establish great working relationships and be a team player to work effectively within the Health Services team
  • Report guest incidents in the Confidential report of Incident system as appropriate and provide additional information to Guest Claims as requested

Basic Qualifications :
  • Current and clear Florida Registered Nursing license
  • 3+ Years Nursing Experience
  • BLS Certified
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Demonstrated high quality clinical skills and decision making
  • Demonstrated strong guest service oriented skills in an operational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated strong partnering and relationship building skills
  • Proven decision making skills
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills, with basic ability to work within a Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Independent and self-motivated to work in a team environment
  • Flexible work schedule to allow for maximum opportunity to work a shift

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Languages in addition to English

Required Education :
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent

Preferred Education :
  • Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent
