Our client based in Dundee are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join them on a permanent basis.

Principal Objectives:

* Develop strong customer and colleague relationships to provide robust invoicing / credit control / purchase ledger processes.

* Ensuring accurate and timely processing and chasing of payments in accordance with payment schedules and company procedures, to maximise the collection of money and minimise the number of overdue accounts and bad debts.

Key Responsibilities:

* Role holders may specialise in one area however require to be multi-skilled to maximise efficiency in the department and maintain high levels of financial controls and customer service

General

* Maintain accurate and up to date customer details and account records

* Liaise with key stakeholders (internal and external) to manage and resolve queries / issues promptly and within Company guidelines and policies

* Fulfil month end requirements including close & reconciliation

* Updating & management of Kimoce

* Provides holiday/absence cover and ongoing support as required for other functions within the Finance Department

* Daily administration and associated tasks as directed by the Financial Controller

* Sorting of incoming mail

* Purchase Ledger/ Invoices

* Registration of purchase invoices

* Checking compliance of invoices with purchase orders and deliveries

* Distribution of invoices for approval

* Processing of invoices on the system

* Management and resolution of invoice queries

* Liaison with suppliers and reconciliation of supplier statements

* Preparation of payment runs and company cheques

* Various other month-end or year-end tasks as required

Skills & Abilities Required (Essential):

* Good communication skills both verbal and written

* Excellent customer service skills including handling complaints

* Proven problem-solving skills

* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines with minimum supervision

* Computer literate, good knowledge of Microsoft applications

* Accuracy

Skills & Abilities Required (Desirable):

* Previously experience in a finance department role
