IT Support Engineer – 1st / 2nd Line

Salary: £23,000 to £25,000

This is a great opportunity for an IT Support Engineer with experience in 1st and 2nd line support to join an engineering consulting company based in Stevenage based within 3 minutes’ walk of Stevenage train station and offering free onsite parking.
The head office in Stevenage has 50 people on site with an additional 130 people in and around London. They are a friendly bunch and often put on social events.
You will be working in a busy support environment responsible for a range of technical IT issues, incidents and service requests as part of a team of three.
Working hours are either 8:00 to 5:00 or 8:30 to 5:30 with an hour for lunch with no out of hours required as they also use an IT services company to pick up the slack.
The role is mainly office based with the occasional train journey to London to do site installs.
You will have one to two years’ experience in a 1st / 2nd line support role and experience in some of the following:
* Administration of Office 365 and Exchange
* Win 7/10 as well as Office 2013/2016 as not everyone is on 365 yet.
* Active Directory
* Knowledge of troubleshooting errors and installing software
* Experience of providing hardware support and setting up of Laptops, PCs, Tablets, Mobiles
* Basic Network Support – DHCP / DNS
Due to the nature of this role, it is essential that you have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will have a keen interest in IT and a desire to keep learning.
