Junior Information Security Analyst

polkadotfrog are recruiting for a Junior Information Security Analyst to join an exciting team where you will be given the opportunity to grow into a Technology focused security role with direct internal and external training and development.

Working directly with Information Security Officer you will be assisting in the management of Information Security on a day-to-day basis and helping to design, deploy and manage security controls to support the information security strategy as well as select, implement, improve and administrate security solutions and tools. You will directly handle security incidents, undertake root cause analysis, prepare reports and carry out remedial actions. Over time you will develop a strong working relationship with other teams to encourage and imbed good security practices into their processes and provide technical and non-technical security training and security advice to other teams and individuals as needed.

Applications will have a technical background with some exposure or experience in security or networks or cloud infrastructure administration. You will have the ability to convey technical issues and matters in a non-technical manor and any direct experience of AWS or working within frameworks such as ISO27001 would be preferred but is not essential:

Key Skills Experience:

• A technical background with experience of security, network, on-premise or cloud infrastructure administration

• Level headed, able to investigate and respond to security threats and incidents with calm and clear thinking

• A highly motivated and organised individual able to use own initiative, manage own time and workload

• A collaborative and team-oriented attitude, open minded and flexible

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and technical and non-technical

• Has a ‘can do’ proactive attitude and demonstrates an eagerness to learn and acquire new skills and experience, especially about information security technology, threats and trends

• Adheres to a high standard of ethical behaviour

Desirable skills and experience:

• Experience of security operations and solutions i.e. vulnerability scanning, IPS, EEP, SIEM

• A relevant security qualification i.e. CompTIA Security or equivalent

• Experience with AWS

• Experience with Information Security frameworks such as ISO 27001, or cloud security frameworks such as the CSA CCM
