Job Description and Duties
The incumbent will act as a construction code inspector and will conduct inspections for compliance with construction, maintenance, use and occupancy requirements involving mobilehome parks, special occupancy parks and employee housing facilities; conduct inspections for code compliance of manufactured housing, mobilehomes, commercial modulars and special purpose commercial modulars for alterations and issuance of approval insignia; issue construction permits and inspect all phases on construction of new mobilehome and special occupancy parks; provide technical information relative to laws and regulations under the Department's enforcement authority to local enforcement agencies, the general public; contractors and design professionals.
Special Requirements
Must pass a physical examination as a condition of employment.
Must possess and maintain a valid California Driver's license.
If hired, candidate must attend mandatory training in Sacramento for up to six months.
If hired, candidate must be able to travel throughout assigned area and must be available for overnight travel as needed.
Extensive knowledge of the California Building Standards Code (Title 24 CCR) and Department regulations.
Strong technical and construction background
