The Sales Enablement and Training Manager is responsible for the training and development of our sales team members and global distribution partners to ensure sales targets and other commercial goals are achieved. This exciting role will work collaboratively to design, develop, deliver and refine a comprehensive training curriculum to provide participants with a solid understanding of our products and sales tools to support successful performance. In addition, this role will use sales analytics and other data to measure the effectiveness of sales tactics and training programs to inform commercial strategy. The ideal candidate will inspire passion, excitement and results in others; have the confidence and credibility to effectively teach and coach others while fostering a positive, collaborative and results-oriented environment. This individual must be able to break down complex information into easy-to-understand materials and have a track record of using a variety of training tools and techniques to maximize content learning. In addition to those skills, experiences and attributes, we're looking for someone that works with a sense of urgency, can influence and motivate others and wants to play a key role in our growing commercial organization. This position is based in our Lexington, MA headquarters and will require frequent field travel (estimated 25%). Responsibilities: Maintain depth and breadth of product knowledge and combine with a variety of teaching techniques (instructor-led, eLearning, virtual, etc.) to effectively train new and existing commercial team members and distribution partners. Design and develop educational content and materials for internal and external training. Translate highly technical and clinically complex concepts into key selling messages that will be taught during sales training. Partner with sales and marketing leadership to measure effectiveness of training programs based on individual/territory product sales, input from internal team members, experience gained during co-travels with sales team members and reviewing other critical performance metrics; implement changes as needed. Demonstrate effective classroom management to enable all participants to progress and learn effectively; recognize individual learning styles and adjust training techniques accordingly. Provide candid, specific, and timely performance feedback so that participants are aware of strengths, development areas and targeted suggestions for how to improve. Co-travel with sales team members to provide coaching and/or ongoing development support. Leverage, master, and train on internal processes and sales enablement tools such as salesforce.com, Definitive Healthcare, Brainshark, etc. to support and inform on commercial strategy and ensure the success of the sales team. Perform other responsibilities as necessary in support of overall sales/marketing needs to drive company success. Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred. 2-3 years of experience in a relevant industry (diagnostics, biotech, pharmaceuticals) in a sales, marketing or training role required; consultative selling experience preferred Minimum of two years of hands-on experience developing and delivering clinically-focused sales training programs required; experience with sales training that includes multiple call-points and complex clinical concepts strongly preferred. Experience training others using various software platforms (i.e. Brainshark, etc.) or other sales-enablement tools strongly preferred. Experience developing high performing sales professionals strongly preferred. Must have proven project-management skills and the ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to develop and deliver effective presentations. Familiarity with infectious disease, critical care and antimicrobial stewardship teams and programs is strongly preferred; ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of applicable disease states that are relevant to T2 Biosystems' products required. Computer proficient particularly in the MS Office and salesforce.com environment. Ability to work successfully in a team environment, and communicate regularly with commercial and R&D team members to understand scientific/clinical information, business strategies, and market dynamics.
