We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electro-Optical Systems Engineer in our Danbury, CT facility.

We are seeking an ELECTRO-OPTICAL SYSTEMS ENGINEER to provide system engineering and technical support to novel and challenging projects of varying size throughout their life cycle stages. You will contribute to the development of electro-optical systems serving both scientific and national security needs. You will be joining an organization with a distinguished space-based EO/IR heritage for scientific and national security. From HEXAGON to the Hubble Space Telescope to ORS-1 to today, our Danbury facility is a global leader in the development of state-of-the-art platforms. Your role will be to:
  • Perform systems engineering of space-based electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) systems through all stages of the product lifecycle
  • Provide requirements management including validation, decomposition and flow down, specification development, and technical budgeting
  • Manage product verification including verification matrixes development, verification plan development, and preparation of sell-off materials to demonstrate compliance to requirements
  • Provide systems engineering support for test programs
  • Act as a technical interface to internal and external customers
  • Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams to define and develop system architectures and concepts, identify and perform trade studies, and direct and/or conceive system performance analyses and models
Education / Certifications

Bachelor's degree in physics, optics, electrical engineering, or a related field

Experience / Qualifications
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience, or 5 years with an advanced degree
  • Experience in the development and/or operation of EO/IR systems
  • Ability to assess the optical performance of imaging and non-imaging EO/IR systems
  • Experience working across engineering disciplines (e.g., electrical, thermal, structural)
  • Experience in systems engineering of complex EO/IR systems throughout the product life cycle including requirements and verification management
  • Experience writing requirements specifications, verification matrices, verification plans, and verification reports
  • Experience in EO/IR system modeling and analysis
  • Strong written communication skills including technical writing
