The Regional Sales Manager will represent AWP Inc. to prospective and existing accounts in the utility, construction, engineering, and event categories in North Carolina and South Carolina. The position is responsible to identify such accounts and through personal and telephone communication, understand their traffic control needs and their decision-making process to select providers of traffic control services. The position is responsible to develop relationships with the key decision-making personnel in both existing and prospective accounts. The Account Executive will part of the account targeting process lead by the Director of Sales.

  • Develop territory plans and strategies in cooperation with Regional Manager and Director of Sales to grow the business and achieve the company's sales goals
  • Build relationships to develop the business of regional and top tier accounts
  • Drive growth and retention of existing territory accounts
  • Lead identification, growth and retention of new accounts
  • Identify key company decision makers, establish professional relationships and win business
  • Seek out and research prospective projects and drive the process for major project pursuit
  • Initiate sales process by scheduling appointments; making initial presentation; understanding client requirements or project needs and provide solutions based on the existing or new client needs
  • Close sales by building rapport with potential clients, with focus on company profitability goals and objectives
  • Participate in the processes, requirements and responses to existing and new account RFPs
  • Negotiate contract rates with clients, with a focus on company profitability goals and objectives
  • Service clients by recommending our available solutions/products for their current needs
  • Partner with Regional Manager and Director of Sales to forecast sales goals, build a strong pipeline and measure business results
  • Attend networking events/trade shows to build clientele relations
  • Perform follow-up with clients to ensure the operating contract and performance is satisfactory
  • Assist in the evaluation of lost projects to increase contract wins
  • Keep Senior Management informed of business conditions which may affect assigned products or markets
  • Keenly track economic and industry activity and understand its implications on customer business, including potential new business opportunities


  • 15+ years of sales experience with demonstrated customer service acumen
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience
  • Track record of successful selling
  • Availability to work and travel within the assigned territory 75% of the time
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, presentation and sales skills
  • Superior sales instincts and drive, extremely self-motivated, highly persistent and focused
  • Strong project management, organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical and evaluative skills
  • Salesforce experience or other CRM experience highly desired

Employee must be able to successfully handle the demands of this position, which include the following:

  • Expect 45+ hour work week
  • Hours may vary based on workload and travel
  • Time will be split between field and office environments
  • The position may work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt
